Evidence review for beauty brands, by a cell biologist.

I read your claims the way a reviewer will, then hand back a version that is true and still sells.

What I do

Beauty copy fails in a specific place: the gap between what a study measured and what the sentence says.

  • In vitro numbers presented as results in skin.
  • Injectable data borrowed for a serum.
  • “Clinically proven” in front of a study with no control group.
  • A particle count that the product page contradicts three clicks later.

Regulators in the UK, US and Korea have spent 2025 and 2026 ruling on exactly these gaps, and litigation has started.

I find those gaps before a regulator, a retailer's claims team or a journalist does, and I write the sentence that survives.

From a client

“It was an exceptional experience working with Amisha. She went above and beyond for me and is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.”

A sample of the work

A discovery call turned into a ten-page feasibility read the same day: what the science supports, what it does not yet, and where the product should stop. Anonymised with the client's permission.

Three ways to work with me

A first read

One product page. One week.

The three expressions most likely to stop a US, UK or EU reviewer, why, and what to say instead. Credited in full against a Claims Language Review within 60 days.

US$450

A Claims Language Review

Every claim on one product

Read against what each market lets you say and the evidence you hold: what passes, what stops, the rewrite, and the study that would unlock the sentence you want. Two to three weeks.

From US$1,500 per product

A Launch Read

Six months before a US launch

Four weeks: your two hero products' evidence graded, the US claims architecture, your “Japanese origin” story checked against the product, the one small study that unlocks the most, and a brief your copywriter can work from.

From US$6,000

Book a 30-minute call · ¥15,000Bring one page. I tell you what I would check first.

For importers, distributors and investors: if you are about to sign a Japanese or Korean brand for the US or EU, I read the data before you do. Up to five products, every claim and every cited study graded, what survives in your market and what a competitor could challenge. Report plus a one-hour call, seven working days, US$3,500 per brand or US$1,200 for a single product. Say “importer or investor” on the form.

Also: a monthly Science Editorial retainer for brands whose claims mostly hold and need to keep holding, scoped on a call. English evidence dossiers for ingredient makers, and in-house training for brand and OEM teams.

Where I come from

Cell biologist working in regenerative medicine in Osaka. Flow cytometry and extracellular vesicle characterisation are my day-to-day, which is why exosome, PDRN, growth factor and stem-cell claims are where I am most useful. MEng and BS. Bilingual English and Japanese, so I can review copy in both and brief a Japanese R&D team and a US marketing team in the same week.

How it starts

Send me one product page. Within a week you get a one-page read of the three claims I would change first, with a rewrite for each. US$450, credited in full against a Claims Language Review if you continue. What I check when I read a claim shows the method on a real page.

Scope

I provide scientific communications support: evidence review, claims-language risk flagging, and ingredient rationale writing. I am not a physician, a regulatory professional, or a cosmetic chemist, and I do not conduct clinical testing. Final legal and regulatory approval of any claim should remain with your counsel or a qualified regulatory consultant. I work under confidentiality and IP-protection terms as standard.
